Skincare that fits your skin, not the label.

Petal reads the ingredient list of anything you scan and checks it against your skin, your hair and what you avoid. Then it builds a routine from products that actually suit you.

A straight answer, with the working shown.

Every result is a match for you, not a score out of 100. The fragrance your friend loves can be the reason your cheeks go red, so Petal tells you which of your preferences a product meets, and why.

Four products. Two routines. In the right order.

Answer a few questions and Petal builds your morning and evening from products that match you, within your budget. The same cleanser and moisturiser do both, so you buy four things, not six.

Morning

  1. CleanserSulfate-free if your skin is dry or sensitive
  2. MoisturiserCeramides for the barrier, nothing pore-clogging if you’re oily
  3. SunscreenSPF 30 or higher, mineral filters if you’re sensitive

Evening

  1. CleanserThe same one, to take off the day’s SPF
  2. TreatmentOne active for your main goal, never a retinoid with an acid
  3. MoisturiserThe same one, over the treatment

When your skin flares up, see what changed before it did.

Log it in under a minute: where, what you notice and how bad it is. Petal lines it up with the products you started or stopped in the two weeks before, so the months between dermatologist visits aren’t a blur.

Petal's Skin tab: an ongoing flare-up, redness and dryness on the cheeks, day 3, with the week day by day, a Today check-in of Better, Same or Worse, and Log a change.
A flare-up in Petal: redness and dryness, moderate, since Wednesday, with How is it today, the week day by day and It's cleared up.
  • A one-tap check-in each day, at a time you choose, until it clears.
  • Patterns across flare-ups, always labelled as timing, never as proof.
  • Photos stay on your phone unless you choose to export them.
The first page of a Petal skin history PDF: three flare-ups between June and September, usually lasting about nine days, a timeline next to when products were started, and ingredients that came up before more than one flare-up.
A one-page summary your dermatologist can read in a minute, made on your phone.

Every ingredient, in plain words.

Tap any ingredient to see what it does, where it sits on the label, and how it tends to go with your skin. One more tap adds it to your avoid list.

Niacinamide

A form of vitamin B3. It helps with uneven tone, oiliness and a weak barrier. Usually well tolerated by sensitive skin; at high strengths (10% and up) a few people notice flushing.

Petal's ingredient page for niacinamide: in plain language, a note for sensitive skin, and its position, 6 of 44, in the ingredient list.

Questions

Is Petal medical advice?

No. Petal explains ingredients and matches them to what you tell it about your skin and hair. It isn’t a diagnosis. For reactions that last or spread, see a dermatologist, and patch test new products.

How is my routine chosen?

From products that match your profile and avoid list, one per step: a cleanser that suits your skin type, a treatment with an active for your main goal, a moisturiser for dry or oily skin and an SPF of 30 or more. You can swap, reorder or remove anything.

Where does the ingredient information come from?

From each product’s ingredient list, partly from Open Beauty Facts and members adding lists, combined with an ingredient reference. Finished-product testing and brand claims are shown separately and don’t affect your match.

Do brands pay to be featured?

No. There are no ads and no paid placements, and no brand pays to be ranked or recommended.

What happens to my skin profile?

It’s used only to check products for you. Your skin and health details are never sold, shared with brands or used for ads. Flare-up photos stay on your phone. You can delete your account at any time in the app.

Is Petal free?

Your first 5 scans are free. Petal Plus unlocks unlimited scans, your full morning and evening routine, your match on every product, every ingredient explained, alternatives ranked for you, “Like this, but…”, reviews, and unlimited compare and saves. It’s yearly with a free trial, or monthly.

Try it on the next thing you’re about to buy.
